Sandy Island (Oeno)
Sandy Islet is a small, naturally formed sandy landform located at the northern end of Oeno Island in the Pitcairn Islands, South Pacific Ocean. It developed from a sand spit that originally extended from the main island. Over time, water movements within the shallow lagoon caused the accumulation and erosion of sediment, eventually breaching the sandbar and separating it into a small islet. Its changing shape illustrates the dynamic coastal processes that influence low-lying coral atolls.
